WATCH: UN Honors Israeli Doctors for Saving Children's Lives Around the Globe

An Israeli medical charity won a UN humanitarian award for providing life-saving heart surgery to impoverished children around the world.

Three Israeli heart surgeons will be in New York to receive the “Population Award” at the United Nations on behalf of the Holon-based organization Save a Child’s Heart.

This is the first time the international award has gone to an Israeli non-profit organization.

The group performs heart surgery on thousands of impoverished children from around the world who would not otherwise survive.
