A top Iranian official says Tehran should exit the 2015 nuclear deal in response to the recent assassination of nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

Iranian official and former chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Fereydoon Abbasi said that Tehran should respond to the recent assassination of senior Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh by exiting the 2015 nuclear deal, in addition to other agreements designed to monitor and limit nuclear development.

He also advocates exiting the additional protocol of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and curbing access to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors in Iran, accepting the possibility of a military strike.

Abbasi himself survived an assassination attempt in 2010.
