“I don’t think people like Jews. They never have. English literature, my great love, is full of greasy and treacherous Jews.” – Actress Miriam Margolyse
Miriam Margolyes, a British-Jewish actress best known for playing the diminutive Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter movie series, ‘stupefied’ the public with her comments regarding “Stupid Israel.”
During this past summer, the IDF launched Operation Protective Edge in defense of Hamas terrorists who were firing missiles constantly throughout southern and central Israel.
“I loathe Hamas, but they were democratically elected,” the 73-year-old actress said about the terrorist organization in an interview with Radio Times, a British weekly, as reported by Sky News. “Israel’s behavior is not acceptable. There’s been a troubling backlash.”
Margolyse would be in grave danger if she were to enter Hamas-controlled Gaza or, for that matter, any territory ruled by Islamists -– for two reasons: She is Jewish and she is a lesbian.
“I don’t think people like Jews,” she said. “They never have. English literature, my great love, is full of greasy and treacherous Jews.”
Beyond Anti-Zionism: Classifying Jews as Money-Grubbing
Judging from that comment, it should be obvious to the actress that anti-Semitism has been around at least for centuries, yet she still blames Israel for provoking Jew-hatred.
“I’m lucky they like me, and one always needs a Jewish accountant,” Margolyse said -– a comment that goes beyond anti-Zionism and seems to classify Jews as money-grubbing.
Not the First Time
This is not the first time that Margolyse has made outrageous accusations against the Jewish People. In November 2010, for example, according to an article on CIF Watch, which monitors anti-Semitism, she revealed her ignorance of the Israeli-Arab conflict and maligned the State of Israel in an interview with BBC Radio.
