In a stunning and misguided move, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
This decision, prompted by ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan, has been met with outrage and condemnation from both the United States and Israel.
It’s imperative that the global community recognizes the blatant injustice of these charges and demands their immediate dismissal.
US President Joe Biden labeled the ICC’s decision as “outrageous” and “shameful,” emphasizing that there is no moral equivalence between the democratic state of Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas. “We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security,” Biden asserted.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken echoed this sentiment, rejecting the ICC’s announcement and questioning its legitimacy.
European leaders and haved joined the United States in condemning this egregious action by the ICC. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala aptly described Khan’s decision as “appalling and completely unacceptable,” reminding the world that it was Hamas, not Israel, that initiated the current conflict with unprovoked terrorist attacks.
The accusations against Israel are particularly infuriating when considering the heinous acts committed by Hamas on October 7.
The ICC’s attempt to draw a false equivalence between Israel’s self-defense and Hamas’ terrorism is not only wrong but dangerously misleading.
This unjust action by the ICC undermines the credibility of international law and emboldens terrorists.
Stand with Israel against terrorism, and reject this unfounded and biased attack on its right to self-defense.

I urge the ICC to immediately drop the charges against Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant. Justice and peace can only be achieved by standing firmly against terrorism, not by targeting those who fight to protect their nations from it.
