Over 20,000 people have called on the Swiss government to move its embassy to Jerusalem. We must join them and help make it happen!

The Federal Democrat Union of Switzerland (EDU) party has brought a petition to the Swiss Foreign Ministry in Bern calling on the country to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Over 20,000 people have signed the petition.

The EDU says it has been urging the move since the party’s founding in 1975.

“Jerusalem is the capital of Israel since the founding of the state in 1948. Despite that, the embassies of Switzerland and other countries are in Tel Aviv. An embassy should be in a country’s capital where the government is established and this would be the most logical thing to do,” party president Hans Moser said.

“Jerusalem is the capital the Jewish people established in ancient times. Today Jerusalem is the seat of Israel’s government,” President Donald Trump stated upon announcing his historic decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. “Today, we finally acknowledged the obvious, that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do.”

More and more countries are now acknowledging the obvious. The US, Guatemala and Paraguay have already done the right thing by relocating their embassies to Israel’s capital. Honduras is slated to do so as well, while Romania, the Czech Republic and other countries have expressed interest in following suit.

This slow trickle has the power to become a pro-Israel, pro-history and pro-justice tidal wave.

We must add our voices! Tell the Swiss government: Be on the right side of history, acknowledge the obvious, do the right thing and move your embassy to Jerusalem!
