The BBC has sacked its senior staffer who came under fire for posting anti-Semitic remarks on Facebook in recent months.

The outlet confirmed on Monday that it had fired Dawn Queva, a senior scheduling coordinator and playout planner at BBC Three who frequently used anti-Semitic slurs online, including “Nazi apartheid parasites,” “thieving squatters,” and “subcontinental melanin recessive caucAsians of the Synagogue of Satan.”

“The UKKK and Amerikkka gave away land they had no god given right to a people who have no god given right to,” the ex-employee said in a since-deleted post. She also denied the Holocaust, referring to it as the “holohoax,” while describing white people as a “virus” and a “barbaric bloodthirsty rapacious murderous genocidal thieving parasitical deviant breed.”

The BBC said it was informed last week about the posts. “We do not tolerate anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or any form of abuse,” the outlet told the New York Post at the time, “and we take any such allegations seriously and take appropriate disciplinary action wherever necessary.”

Multiple Jewish staffers at the BBC have been unhappy about Queva’s posts, the outlet reported. Former BBC presenter Andrew Neil wrote on X, “Former BBC colleagues have contacted me to say it’s ‘grim’ and ‘frightening’ to be Jewish at the BBC at the moment.”

In October, the New York Times faced scrutiny after it reemployed Soliman Hijjy, a Gaza-based freelancer whom the outlet had let go in 2022 due to his record of praising Adolf Hitler.

A spokeswoman told the Washington Free Beacon that the Times took “a variety of actions to ensure [Hijjy] understood our concerns and could adhere to our standards if he wished to do freelance work for us in the future,” adding that “Mr. Hijjy followed those steps and has maintained high journalistic standards. He has delivered important and impartial work at great personal risk in Gaza during this conflict.”
