Israeli forces on Wednesday night eliminated two terrorists near Jenin in northern Samaria who were involved in a Jan. 6 shooting that left three Israelis dead.
Mohamad Nazzal and Katiba Shalabi, residents of Qabatiya, were affiliated with Palestinian Islamic Jihad and had barricaded themselves in a building in Burqin, just southeast of Jenin, according to the Israel Defense Forces. They were killed following an exchange of fire with Israeli troops.
Several other suspects were arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 attack in al-Funduq.
An IDF was moderately injured during the operation.
The al-Funduq attack targeted a bus and civilian vehicles near the Palestinian village, killing Rachel Cohen, 73, Aliza Rice, 70, and Israel Police Master Sgt. Elad Yaakov Winkelstein, 35. Six more people were wounded.
Israeli security forces have launched a large-scale operation to destroy terrorist infrastructure in Jenin.
Dubbed “Iron Wall,” the operation includes IDF troops, Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) officers and Border Police, according to the military.
