A senior Iranian official has vowed to carry out the Islamic Republic’s agenda to destroy the State of Israel and “set Palestine free.” This means the “full annihilation and destruction of the Zionist regime.”
A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) declared Wednesday that Iran will continue boosting its military preparedness “until it takes down Israel and sets Palestine free,” the Iranian Fars news agency reported.
“They [the US and Israel] should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine,” Brigadier-General Mohsen Kazzemeini, IRGC’s top commander in Tehran province, stated in an address to soldiers during a military drill.
“We will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, especially those countries that are standing at the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists,” he continued, referring to the terror organizations fighting Israel with the support of Iran.
The IRGC is entrusted with Iran’s foreign military activities, including its global terror network, and has vowed in the past to support the terror activities against Israel.
Some 250,000 Iranian Basiji (volunteer) forces in 250 battalions started massive drills in Tehran on Wednesday and Thursday in order to practice “fighting against security threats.”
The destruction of Israel is official Iranian policy.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a series of tweets in November 2014, outlined a program to destroy the Jewish state, noting “that criminal acts of the wolf-like and child-killer Zionist regime in Gaza had revealed its true nature.”
The “only way to solve this problem is full annihilation and destruction of the Zionist regime” through the arming of the Palestinian terror organizations, he stated. “The armed resistance by the Palestinians is the only way to confront Israel.”
