The culture of death embraced by the Palestinian society has brought it to new depths of deprivation, as made clear recently by the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) Minister of Women’s Affairs, Haifa Al-Agha.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Women’s Affairs, Haifa Al-Agha, who is herself a woman, recently praised Palestinian women by pointing out their “uniqueness” compared to all the other women of the world because they rejoice upon the news of the death of their sons who died committing terror attacks.

“…Al-Agha… noted the Palestinian woman’s uniqueness, which differentiates her from the women of the world, as [only] she receives the news of her son’s martyrdom with cries of joy,” the PA’s official daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida wrote earlier in November, according to the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

This official PA promotion of Martyrdom (Shahada – Death for Allah) as an ideal and the praise of mothers who do not show sorrow but make “cries of joy” when their sons die, was voiced by the PA minister during the current wave of terror attacks which has plagued Israel for the past two-and-a-half months.

“Many young Palestinians have been killed while stabbing or attempting to stab Israelis. By praising mothers for their “cries of joy,” Minister Al-Agha is sending a message to PA society to attack Israelis without fear of death because martyrdom for Allah is said to be the highest value and highest achievable status,” PMW explained.

The minister also added that Palestinian women are noteworthy not only because they celebrate death but because they fight as well. “The Palestinian girls and women have proven their ability to contribute to their homeland, and that they have a significant presence in the field and battle arenas.” Several of the recent terror attacks have been perpetrated by women and girls.

Palestinian Idealizing of Death and Destruction

During the current wave of Palestinian attacks, PMW has shown examples of parents who expressed joy over their son’s martyrdom and rejoiced that their “martyr” son was going to “Paradise” to marry the 72 virgins, according to Islamic belief.

PMW has also revealed that throughout the current terror campaign, PA and Fatah leaders and institutions idolize terrorists who have killed and wounded Israelis, and honor as “martyrs” the ones who die while doing so.

Moreover, Martyrdom is being promoted as an ideal to strive for. The official PA daily printed an op-ed that described Palestinians as worshiping the blood of a “martyr,” official PA TV broadcast a song stating that “nothing is sweeter than martyrdom,” and Abbas’ Fatah has praised terrorist “martyrs” and described the sky “fragrant with the scent of the martyrs.”
