Yotam Ovadia, a 31-year old father of two from the community of Adam in the Judea and Samaria region, was critically wounded Thursday evening when a Palestinian terrorist stabbed him and two other people after breaking into the home.

He succumbed to his wounds several hours later.

The funeral was held Friday at 1 p.m. in Jerusalem.

A 58-year-old man was seriously wounded and remains in hospital, A third victim, 41-year-old Asaf Ravid, sustained light wounds.

Ravid, who shot dead the 17-year-old terrorist from the nearby Palestinian village of Kobar, told the Hebrew-language Ynet website that he had been out riding his bicycle when he heard screams from a nearby house and then saw the terrorist approaching him with a knife, TPS reported.

“I went cycling and in my bag I had a gun that I always carry with me,” Ravid said. “I heard shouts and then saw the terrorist approach me. He pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed me in the shoulder. I pulled away and took the gun out of my bag… I shot him once and when he continued to move toward me I shot him another two times and he fell.”

The terrorist was named as Mohammed Tarik Youssef, 17, from the nearby Palestinian village of Kobar. On July 21, 2017, a terrorist from Kobar stabbed three members of the Salomon family to death in the nearby Jewish community of Neve Tzuf, TPS noted.

Liberman: ‘Best Response to Terror is Settlement’

“The best response to terrorism is settlement in Judea and Samaria, and therefore this morning I put forward a plan to establish 400 housing units in the community of Adam and to confirm it in the planning institutions in the next few weeks, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman stated on Twitter Friday.

“The brainwashing of the Palestinian society by the PA and others leads to evil violence. My heart goes to Yotam’s family,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon tweeted, referring to the rampant incitement by the Palestinian Authority (PA).

“International funds finance the Palestinian campaign of murder and terror. How many Israelis will have to lose their lives until the world realizes that by ‘helping’ the PA, it actually finances a large scale murder industry ?!? This is madness!” he added.

Indeed, according to calculations presented by Liberman recently, the PA will pay out NIS 12,604,000 ($3,478,015) to the terrorist who butchered the Salomon family members over his lifetime.

The Hamas terror organization, which rules the Gaza Strip, praised the attack as a “heroic action,”, calling it a “natural response to Israel’s crimes.”
