IDF Warns North Gaza Residents to Relocate Ahead of New Assault on Hamas

Military spokesman says that, in light of sniper fire and terrorist activity against IDF forces, the IDF will launch a “powerful attack targeting the area used to carry out these terrorist attacks.”

The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) issued a warning Thursday afternoon to the to all residents of the Gaza Strip located in the Beit Hanoun and Sheikh Zayed areas, in northern Gaza near Gaza City, saying they need to relocate ahead of a planned IDF assault.

Lieutenant Colonel Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic spokesman, declared on ‘X’ that this was a “final advance warning before the attack!”

Adraee explained that, in light of sniper fire and terrorist activity emanating from the aforementioned area against IDF forces, the IDF will launch what he described as a “powerful attack targeting the area used to carry out these terrorist attacks.”

“The terrorist organizations, primarily Hamas, bear responsibility,” he added. “For your safety, you must move immediately west to Gaza City.”

The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) carried out two targeted airstrikes in Gaza over the past 24 hours, eliminating terrorist operatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad who according to the military were directing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.

On Thursday, the IDF struck a Hamas-PIJ command and control center in Jabalia used to orchestrate terror operations. According to the IDF, “numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians,” including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance and real-time intelligence.

A similar strike was carried out overnight Wednesday, targeting a terrorist gathering inside a Hamas-PIJ command post embedded within the former “Jaffa” School in Gaza City. That site was also used to plan and execute attacks, military officials said.
