Reports have repeatedly surfaced of Hamas weapons caches being discovered in UNRWA schools and facilities, as well as tunnels dug beneath its buildings.
President Donald Trump has officially signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the UN Human Rights Council and cutting all funding to UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees).
The decision follows years of controversy surrounding both organizations, with accusations of corruption, bias, and ties to extremist groups.
UNRWA, which operates schools and facilities in Gaza, has long faced scrutiny for its alleged ties to Hamas.

The agency has also been accused of employing staff with links to terrorist organizations and using educational materials that incite violence against Israel.
The UN Human Rights Council has similarly been criticized for disproportionately targeting Israel while granting membership to regimes with poor human rights records, including China, Venezuela, and Iran.
Trump’s move to sever ties with these organizations is seen as part of his broader commitment to holding international bodies accountable and prioritizing American interests over funding controversial global institutions.
