After her husband Gadi Haggai (72) was announced dead on December 22 after being wounded and captured by Hamas, it has been confirmed that Judith Weinstein (70) who was thought to have been a hostage in Gaza was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7th.

Both of their bodies are being held by Hamas.

The couple, both American citizens, are survived by two daughters two sons, and seven grandchildren.

On the morning of October 7th, the Nir Oz residents were taking a walk when they heard missiles.

The last time they were seen by their families was during a 40-second video on a group chat during which they described the situation and that terrorists had invaded Kibbutz Nir Oz.

Their daughter, Iris Weinstein Haggai described the video, “She said they were shot by terrorists on a motorcycle and that my dad was wounded really bad.”

She added, “Paramedics tried to send her an ambulance. The ambulance got hit by a rocket.”

Gadi was a retired chef and jazz musician and Judith taught English to children with special needs.

The family was uncertain of the fate of Gadi and Judith until their deaths were confirmed recently.

During the period of uncertainty, Judith’s 95-year-old mother told CNN, “I’m very worried and worried. I want to know if Judy is alive and if she is being held hostage. It’s unbearable not to know.”

On the news of Gadi’s death, President Joe Biden said he was “heartbroken by the news.”

He added, “We continue to pray for the return of his wife Judy Weinstein. Their daughter joined my meeting with the families of the abductees by phone last week.”

He added, “We pray for their four children and seven grandchildren, and mourn together with them this tragic news. We will not stop working to bring the abductees home.”
