Dr. Tawfik Hamid, an Islamic thinker and senior fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, says Hamas is responsible for the suffering of the Palestinians.

Hamid began his political activism when he joined the terrorist group Jamaa Islamia alongside Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri who later became the second-in-command of Al-Qaeda.

After years of waging Jihad on the West, he realized radical Islam wasn’t conducive to helping Arab society and began promoting peaceful interpretations of classical Islam.

Having visited Israel on two occasions, Hamid now says the Palestinian leadership has exploited the suffering of its own people to promote its own selfish agenda.
