In a recent video, YouTuber OtherBarak showed how mainstream media outlets such as the Washington Post and BBC have promoted a false narrative in their reporting on the recent Hezbollah rocket attack on Israel which resulted in the death of 12 Druze children in the town of Majdal Shams.

OtherBarak showed the front page of the Washington Post, which featured a picture of a family mourning the death of one of the children killed in Majdal Shams. While the explanatory caption to the picture does not attract much attention, a large, unrelated headline below the caption, which says “Israel hits targets in Lebanon,” does.

An uncritical eye, he explains, will tend to associate the picture with the large headline, leading many to assume, incorrectly, that Israeli bombing in Lebanon is the source of the grief and suffering expressed in the picture.
