After a week of tumultuous negotiations between Hamas, Israel, Qatar, and the incoming Trump administration, a ceasefire was announced on Sunday morning, and Sunday night saw the release of three female hostages: Emily Damari, Romi Gonen, and Doron Steinbrecher.
Once the agreement was struck, Hamas members gathered the hostages from whatever tunnel they were hiding in and prepared them for transfer to the Red Cross, including packing them goodie bags containing a map of Gaza and pictures of them from captivity.
From the Red Cross, the hostages were driven to the IDF integration facility, where the relieved and safe hostages met with their mothers and various doctors to assess their mental and physical health before flying home to Israel.
