50,000 Spanish Speakers Join ‘Unidos con Israel’

Within eight months, 50,000 Spanish speakers joined Unidos con Israel, a United with Israel sister organization, far exceeding expectations.

Last year, the directing team of United with Israel embarked upon a new project designed to spread its message in other languages. Beginning this long-term venture by targeting Spanish speakers, we created its sister organization – Unidos con Israel. Since the inception of its Facebook campaign, Unidos con Israel has attracted a staggering 50,000 strong fan-base, far exceeding all expectations.

Spanish for “Join Now!”

In undertaking this mission, we have had one simple yet crucial principle in mind, which has governed the project throughout its entirety – that neither language barriers nor geographic separations can represent obstacles to providing the tools required to defend Israel. Of the 300,000,000 Spanish speakers of the world, it is no small achievement that Unidos con Israel can boast a readership of 50,000 attained in record time of just eight months.

We are determined to combat anti-Semitism in all manifestations and provide our followers with hard and raw facts regarding contemporary hatred against Jews and the unjustified world condemnation of which tiny Israel is all-too-often the recipient. By subscribing to the new Spanish initiative, literally millions of potential followers may now access a bonanza of videos, surveys, pictures and academic and political studies simply by expressing their support for Israel.

Yet if our history provided even a glimmer of hope that there may one day be no need for our continuing mission in the future, it is still far from complete. Thanks to the additional Spanish-speaking support, which has augmented the two-million-strong English-speaking UWI community, our faith that Israel never stands alone has been reinforced, our pride has been boosted and our motivation has been unshaken by those who never cease in their quest to rock us.

More important, the support we have received has strengthened our absolute determination to expand UWI and its corollary Unidos con Israel into a multilingual initiative reaching French, Portuguese and Italian audiences. We seek to demonstrate that Israel represents a bright light in a dark region characterized by cruel encroachments of human dignity and unashamed infringements of some of the most basic human rights.

Thanks to you and to our 50,000 new recruits, our mission starts now. Through your overwhelming support, you have truly provided us with Ha’tikvah – ‘The Hope’ – which is also the title of our national anthem and represents the Israeli spirit.
