United with Israel is proud to introduce the ANI Initiative. This ongoing campaign is designed to transform Israel supporters into global activists. ANI is the acronym for Act Now for Israel. It is also the Hebrew word for “I”. In other words, it’s all up to ME!

The Talmudic teachings of ethical and moral principles known as Pirkei Avot record “Hillel used to say: If I am not for myself who will be for me? Yet, if I am for myself only, what am I? And if not now, when?

Another teaching advises people to look at the world as if “it was created for ME”. (in Hebrew, Bishvili Nivra Ha’Olam.) This is not meant to be self-centered or arrogant. It means that every single individual has the potential to change the entire world. An incredible privilege but also a great responsibility!

Israel faces enemies near and far. Iran is building nuclear weapons, and has pledged to wipe Israel off the map. Terrorists fire rockets into Israeli towns daily. Groups around the world advocate for boycotting Israeli products.

And yet Israel continues to be a blessing to the world. When the largest earthquake ever to have hit Japan triggered a massive tsunami and nuclear accidents, Israeli medical teams risked their own lives to help save others. Israeli irrigation technology helps bring water and food to millions of people around the world. Israeli solar panels and green technology are bringing the world closer to to a greener future free of oil dependence.
