During his recent speech at the UN, Iran’s new president Hassan Rouhani spoke of the hope for “dialogue over conflict” and “moderation over extremism.”

Iran’s actions, including installing over 1000 new centrifuges capable of rapidly creating weapons-grade uranium from low-grade uranium, and its refusal allow UN inspectors access to Iran’s nuclear sites, reflect a violent agenda that speaks louder than Rouhani’s words of peace.

In response, United with Israel has launched a major campaign (visit www.stopiran.org) to keep the pressure on Iran. It’s main goal is to keep world leaders, including US President Barack Obama, focused on the Iranian nuclear threat, and to increase the pressure by imposing harsher sanctions on the Iranian regime.

Senior Iranian officials have openly declared that “Iran’s nuclear activities continue as in the past”, and that Iran is “continuing the enrichment of uranium to the 20 percent level.”

Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Iran’s improvements to its nuclear program will enable it to “jump to 90% enrichment within weeks.” A report by the U.S. Institute for Science and International Security concluded that with its current stockpiles, Iran could produce enough uranium for a nuclear bomb within one month.

President Obama and world leaders are considering easing sanctions on Iran due to Rouhani’s ‘moderate’ tone. The real decision-maker is Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. He is the one who initiated former Iranian president Ahmadinejad’s call for the destruction of the State of Israel.

Israel’s very existence is at stake. We agree with Prime Minister Netanyahu that there can be no negotiating over Israel’s existence. While dialogue is important, there can be no meaningful discussion with leaders who are committed to the destruction of Israel. The Jewish People cannot and will not be threatened with another Holocaust.

World leaders must recognize that now is NOT the time for easing sanctions on Iran. The international community must keep the pressure on Iran by imposing harsher sanctions and demanding that its nuclear program be completely dismantled. A nuclear Iran is a threat not only to Israel but to the entire free world.
