Israel’s Foreign Ministry Director Dr. Dore Gold participated in a Jordanian security conference in Amman on Tuesday where he emphasized that to stop terror one must stop the incitement that generates it.

Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director Dr. Dore Gold participated in a Jordanian security conference in Amman on Tuesday, during which he restated Israel’s commitment to maintain the status quo on the Temple Mount, while saying that there is a need to fight incitement as a key component of the war on terrorism, which is hurting all of the states represented at the conference.

During his address to Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), during which he sat between the Jordanian and Egyptian delegates, Gold stressed Israel’s full commitment to maintaining the status quo on the Temple Mount and to the peace agreement with Jordan.

He also emphasized the importance of fighting against incitement, and continuing negotiations. “Crisis periods cannot be an excuse for not having a dialog,” he said.

The Palestinian leadership and Islamic organizations have circulated over the past months the libel that Israel was plotting to take over the Temple Mount complex and destroy the al-Aqsa mosque. This incitement has led to a wave of Palestinian terror attacks against Israelis, claiming the lives of ten.

The Vienna-based OSCE is the world’s largest regional security organization.
