Closeted away in the hills of Northern Israel, lies a little kibbutz with a BIG job. There, a company called Plasan makes security-related hardware products.
The Ambassador got to see the whole range of products produced there, including reactive armor and purpose-built vehicles to body armor and more! So far Plasan has delivered more than 8000 armor kits to US units on active duty.
Another unique – and perhaps opposite – aspect of this kibbutz is its theater program called “Bereishit L’Sholom” (Beginning of Peace). This group brings together children from all over Israel and, through drama and dance, highlights the similarities – not differences – of all mankind.
Ambassador Shapiro was extremely impressed with both sides to the kibbutz and so too will you!
