There are so many jokes about the Passover diet, which includes, for example, a lot of matzoh, or unleavened bread. This reminds us that the Jews who escaped Egypt in haste had no time to wait for their bread to rise.
Another food we are commanded to eat at the Passover seder table is maror, or bitter herbs, to recall the bitterness experienced by our Jewish ancestors as slaves in ancient Egypt.
Well, it’s better to laugh than to cry, so these young men and women decided to have some fun with the bitter herbs.
