Happy holiday to the IDF’s Muslim and Druze soldiers!
The IDF issued a special greeting to its 5,000 Druze and Muslim soldiers, wishing them an Eid Mubarak, a blessed holiday, on the occasion of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
“This is my country, and it’s my duty to protect its borders,” explained IDF Sgt. Yossef Saluta, one of the growing number of Muslim Arabs serving in the Israeli military.
There were fewer than 10 Arab Muslims in the IDF just a few years ago, according to Sarhan, but now the number is in the dozens.
We, too, wish them a happy holiday!
