On March 17, 2019, a 19-year-old terrorist carried out two attacks in Samaria at the Ariel and at Gitai Avishar junctions, respectively, killing Staff Sgt. Gal Keidan and Rabbi Achiad Ettinger, a father of 12.

The terrorist, Omar Abu Laila, was honored by the Palestinian Authority for his “martyrdom” by having a square in the Arab village of Abuyon, near Ramallah, named after him. He has become a role model for Palestinian youth.

In an overnight mission in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the IDF demolished his home.
