The corona ward in this hospital treated some of the worst coronavirus cases in the country, but is now shuttered because all its patients have gone home.

At the height of the corona crisis, Assuta Hospital in Ashdod treated dozens of patients in its dedicated coronavirus ward, losing an elderly patient with preexisting conditions at an early stage of the pandemic.

This week, the hospital closed the corona ward because all of its patients have recovered.

The closure of Assuta’s corona section provides a clear sign that Israel has turned a corner in the corona crisis
