The Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced a German neo-Nazi group that is hosting a Spanish teenager on a ten-month scholarship.
Isabel Peralta, 18, is studying “techniques for propaganda and combat” in Germany, courtesy Der III Weg (The Third Way). She become a prominent figure at Complutense University of Madrid for her activities with Bastion Frontal, a Spanish neo-Nazi fascist. She left for Dusseldorf in September and plans to return to Spain afterwards.
Spanish authorities blame Bastion Frontal for a spike of violence and hate crimes in Valencia, Spain’s third largest city.
Speaking at a Palestinian Land Day event in Madrid in February, Peralta said it was her “absolute obligation to fight for Spain, to fight for Europe, which are now weak and have been sold off by the enemy. Only the disguise will differ, the enemy will always be the same, the Jew… The Jews are to blame and the Blue Division fought for this.”
In a statement, Shimon Samuels, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s director of international relations, denounced Peralta and The Third Way, saying Peralta deserves to charged for hate speech.
“Watch out for Isabel,” warned Samuels.
The center also noted that Peralta’s support is out of step with The Third Way and its backers.
“Her donors hate Muslim refugees in particular. Isabel is a great supporter of Hamas and waves banners calling for a ‘3rd Intifada.’ Most interesting is this Hamas connection. Viewed as an ally of the extreme left, it is now revealed to be in the Nazi camp,” the center said.
The Third Way numbers around 600 members. A German domestic intelligence report said The Third Way prefers to have a small, hardcore membership, according to Deutsche Welle.
The group made news last week when it rallied Germans living near the Polish border to form vigilante patrols to stop Muslim migrants from entering Germany.
