Israelis reported seeing a “train of lights” moving across the sky.

Israelis were dazzled and mystified by a series of lights silently flying in a line over the northern part of the country on Saturday.

“We’ve never seen anything like this in our lives. It looked like a chain of lights and moved relatively slowly,” one Nahariya resident told Walla. The resident said the lights traveled from east to west and disappeared after around 15-30 seconds.

Similar sightings were reported in Lebanon, Turkey and Greece.

Hebrew reports said the IDF is investigating the source of the lights. Reports said they are widely believed to be a number of recently launched SpaceX Starlink satellites.

On Friday, a SpaceX rocket launched a payload of 46 Starlink satellites from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. SpaceX, which is owned by billionaire Elon Musk, is deploying a network of low-orbit satellites to provide high-speed internet connections around the world.

SpaceX has not yet commented on Saturday night’s light show.

However, the company did confirm in 2020 its satellites were the cause of similar lights that also had the Israeli Air Force and Space Agency investigating.
