This week the Ministry of Defense hosted a senior American delegation headed by the US Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, Ronald Moultrie.
The American delegation met with the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel (res.) Eyal Zamir, the Defense Ministry Political-Military Director Brigadier General (res.) Dror Shalom, Head of the IDF Military Intelligence Directorate Colonel Aharon Haliva and other senior Israeli defense officials.
“The conversation dealt with security and intelligence issues and unique challenges shared by Israel and the US, led by the Iranian effort to destabilize the region,” the Defense Ministry said.
“The American delegation toured the northern border and received an overview of the unique challenges posed by the Hezbollah threat along the Israel-Lebanon border.”
The American delegation toured several IDF Intelligence Corps bases where they met with senior IDF officers. The two sides also conducted a panel discussion exploring ways to further strengthen the countries’ bilateral intelligence and defense cooperation.
The delegation then paid a visit to Jerusalem, where they visited the Israel Ministry of Defense’s National Hall for Israel’s Fallen at Mt. Herzl and the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum. Moultrie laid wreaths at the sites.
