Imagine receiving deliveries or sending heavy shipments without needing a plane or a truck.
The unmanned vehicle sector is an area Israeli technology is playing a major role, whether its for military applications or commerce.
AIR, a leading Israel maker of eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft has released its AIR ONE Cargo vehicle that can carry a payload of 550 pounds, exceeding the 440-pound payload previously published for the piloted, passenger-carrying aircraft.
The company generated over $1 million in revenue for 2023 and is raising its targets for 2024 and 2025.
The AirOne vehicle can transport heavy cargo at comparable speeds to its manned version of AirOne designed for the consumer market.
“Venturing into this new market with AIR ONE Cargo is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the integration of eVTOLs into all spheres of daily life, for a variety of use cases,” said AIR CEO and co-founder Rani Plaut.
“We expanded our offerings in response to strong market demand, and the feedback we’ve already received affirms that AIR ONE’s robust capabilities and simple, cost-effective design make it an extremely agile platform, uniquely able to scale across different uses.”
UAV’s are in demand, and its estimated they will be making 80% of future deliveries.
Unmanned vehicles save money on manpower, are safer since humans aren’t flying them and therefore, can’t be harmed.
In addition, UAVs save on fuel and can be faster and more efficient than planes or trucks.
Currently, eVTOLs have wide application for military purposes and can be crucial for delivering emergency medical supplies.
As the technology develops further, eVTOL’s can manage more weight and increase in efficiency.
AIR expects to receive FAA certification for its passenger model by late 2024.
The company is based in Pardes Hana, Israel and has an office in Ft. Worth Texas.
