Three IDF Soldiers Wounded in Samaria Terror Shooting

The attack was carried out from a passing vehicle, according to first responders.

Three Israel Defense Forces soldiers were wounded on Thursday morning in a terror shooting on Route 55 close to Nabi Ilyas in Samaria.

Magen David Adom emergency medics treated a soldier in his 20s and another in his 30s for gunshot wounds at the scene. They were both evacuated to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba in light-to-moderate condition.

A third soldier sustained minor injuries, according to MDA.

According to first responders, the shooting was carried out from a passing vehicle.

The IDF launched a search for the assailants.

The busy thoroughfare has become a prime target for Palestinian terrorism.

Last week, three Israelis were lightly wounded in a terrorist attack near Shavei Shomron in Samaria, some six miles northwest of Nablus.

The victims, males aged 15, 16 and 32, were wounded by shards of glass after their vehicle came under fire. The head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, said the shooting took place close to where Elhanan Klein was murdered in a terror attack in November.

In April, two Israeli civilians were wounded in a terror shooting east of Qalqilya on Route 55, between the Arab towns of Azzun and Nabi Ilyas. Security forces apprehended the suspect after he fled towards Qalqilya, where they found a large explosive device in the terrorist’s car.
