Hezbollah has the ability to hit military facilities in northern Israel, including Haifa, “harshly and violently,” a Hezbollah official threatened.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the official said that “foreign emissaries” had asked Hezbollah not to respond to an expected Israeli attack.
“We told them we reject this, and that we will respond to any Israeli attack,” he said.
“Hezbollah leadership will decide on the size and manner of response to every possible attack,” he added.
“We have the ability to attack military facilities in Haifa, the Golan Heights and Ramat David, harshly and violently.”
Ramat David is the northernmost airbase of the Israeli Air Force.
Yesterday, AP reported that Hezbollah had started moving “smart precision-guided missiles” ahead of a possible Israeli attack in Lebanon, following Hezbollah’s weekend rocket attack on the Golan Heights during which 12 youths in the Druze town of Majdal Shams were killed.
In a statement issued by his office on Monday after visiting the scene of the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “The state of Israel will not and cannot let this pass. Our response will come and it will be harsh.” Donate to vital charities that help protect Israeli citizens and inspire millions around the world to support Israel too!
