Political Ben Shapiro told an anti-Israel woman that “Anyone who claims there is a genocide going on the Gaza Strip does not understand the definition of the word ‘genocide.'”

“Civilian collateral damage is not the same thing as targeting civilians,” Shapiro explained during the rapid-fire debate hosted by the Jubilee YouTube channel.

“Genocide is where you systematically destroy a population specifically because you wish to kill the civilian population,” he said, emphasizing that Israel specifically targets terrorists and goes out of its way to minimize civilian deaths, and that a distinction must be drawn between war with resulting casualties, and genocide.
