We must honor the past and protect the future. To ensure that the Holocaust is not forgotten, we must educate the next generation. Join the global community of Holocaust remembrance.

Over 70 years after the Holocaust was perpetrated by the Nazis, the Survivors are old and frail, with their memories of the atrocities slowly fading.

As time passes, humanity is forgetting the horrors of World War II and the lessons history taught us.

This worrying trend enables anti-Semitism to rear its ugly head again.

History teaches us that those who forget its lessons are doomed to repeat its mistakes.

To ensure that we never face the terrors of another Holocaust, and that we learn history’s important lessons, millions of people across the globe will participate in a simple yet meaningful exercise to inspire conversation and impart upon a new generation the story and lessons of the Holocaust.

Participants are posting on social media photographs of themselves holding a sign with the words “We Remember,” using the hashtag #WeRemember.

Images posted to social media will be live streamed on the grounds of the former Auschwitz Birkenau Concentration Camp from January 24 to January 27, when International Holocaust Remembrance Day is marked.

On these same dates, the words “We Remember” will be projected onto the façade of Tel Aviv’s City Hall.

We can help ensure that this message is heard by millions. Last year’s campaign was viewed the world over by more than 250 million people. Participants included heads of state, celebrities, and common citizens in destinations ranging from Canada to Croatia and from Russia to Rwanda. This year, the campaign, initiated by the World Jewish Congress, hopes to reach 500 million people.

We must honor the past and protect the future. We must ensure that these stories are not forgotten so that we can educate the next generation. Post your picture with #WeRemember.
