Blaming Israel for the Newtown Massacre (Sick!)

Michael Harris, a former candidate for Governor of Arizona, stated on Iran Press TV that Israeli “death squads” slaughtered 20 children and 6 adults in the Newtown massacre in retaliation for Palestine succeeding with their UN bid. He alleged that this supposed truth was hidden because the US Congress is “bought and paid for by the Israel Lobby.” He asserted that Israelis target innocent “women and children,” that Israel routinely operates death squads in the US, that Jewish-controlled Hollywood is responsible for the high crime rates in the US, and that Israel, which he claims is responsible for all the violence in the Middle East, should be annihilated.

When another panelist interviewed on Iran Press TV attempted to challenge Harris’s offensive statements, describing his tying of Israel to the Newtown massacre as “grossly irresponsible” and “disgusting,” the moderator silenced him, the Times of Israel reported. The Anti-Defamation League responded to Harris’s statements on Iran Press TV by saying that his publication Veterans Today “is known for promulgating some of the most outrageous anti-Israel and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, and Press TV has been providing a platform for its contributors and other American anti-Semites, conspiracy theorists and Holocaust deniers for years.”

Yet other anti-Israel twitter activists also made offensive statements in response to the Newtown Massacre. One Palestine supporter named Bahri Karaoglan even declared on twitter, “Hahahaha hahahaha im so happy 18 childerens Killed in USA.” Another twitter user, going by the username OneUmmah, declared, “I wonder if the gunmen was a Zionist? #Connecticut Because they love shooting and killing kids, in #Gaza.” Ali Abunimah, a prominent Palestinian activist, wrote on twitter, “The president’s tears: only shed for children he didn’t order killed.” Hanna Palestina further stated on twitter that the Newtown gunman was imitating Obama.

As all of these statements demonstrate, a number of pro-Palestine activists are willing to pervert the truth if it will make Israel look bad in their perception. They conveniently forget that Jewish youngsters’ were among the slain in Newtown and that Adam Lanza, the identified killer, was not Jewish, facts which should put all of their conspiracy theories on this issue to an end. Yet as if that was not bad enough, some Palestine supporters support killing innocent Americans, just as a majority of Palestinians have no qualms against killing innocent Israelis.
