A report by the Al-Ahd News website affiliated with Hezbollah in Lebanon detailed the group’s use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs.

According to a report by the Iran Threat Monitor Project at the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), the Lebanese report claimed that Hezbollah seeks to carry out reconnaissance activities and respond to “violations of the occupation.”

It claimed the Mirsad-1 completed its flight, allegedly flying “undetected” for 18 minutes, “despite the occupation’s modern technology.”

Stressing Hezbollah’s “renewed approach of deterrence, confrontation and advancement of its resistance action,” the report cited a recent incident in which a UAV performed a significant “achievement”: “The ‘Hassan’ [UAV] flew into the depth of the occupied territory for nearly 70 kilometers and for a duration of about 40 minutes without being detected or monitored by the occupation’s defense systems.”

According to MEMRI, the Hezbollah-linked site called the deployment of three UAVs a “deterrent” for Israel “looting” Lebanon’s oil resources.
