Nazis Would Delight in World Court’s Anti-Israel Witch Hunt, Says Ex-UK Commander

On Friday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced it had jurisdiction over a “war crimes” probe targeting Israel, a campaign that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced as “pure anti-Semitism.”

Former British Army commander Richard Kemp blasted the ICC decision, writing in The Jerusalem Post, “SS Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler, architect and director of the Holocaust, would be proud of the latest move by Fatou Bensouda, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC).”

In his no-holds-barred takedown of the ICC, Kemp connects Himmler’s pursuit of the “the total elimination of the Jewish race” during the Holocaust with the Nazi monster’s support for “Amin al-Huseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem,” who planned “to eradicate the Jews in Palestine.”

Kemp continues, “Bensouda and the ICC have joined the international campaign aimed at eliminating the Jewish state, led by al-Huseini’s successors.”

According to Kemp, the ICC, which is “heir to the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal,” now resembles the “Nazis’ notorious People’s Court.”

“The ICC chief prosecutor’s hand is now controlled by organizations linked to the Third Reich,” Kemp adds, referring specifically to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), whose founding leaders “were trained in terrorism and political warfare by former SS Colonel Otto Skorzeny and Dr. Gerhard Hartmut von Schubert, once of Josef Goebbels’s propaganda ministry.”

In addition to this link, Kemp notes that Palestinian Authority President Mahmud Abbas wrote a doctoral thesis based on Holocaust denial, published as a book in Arabic called “The Other Side: The Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism.”

In this work, Abbas promotes wild conspiracies, claiming “Jews killed by the Germans were in fact victims of a Nazi-Zionist plot,” notes Kemp, adding that Abbas’ regime currently rewards terrorists for killing Jews with monthly salaries.

With regard to the ICC’s war crimes smear, Kemp himself was in Israel during Operation Protective Edge in 2014, one of the events from which the false charges arise. He investigated the conflict as part of “an independent body of retired generals from Western armed forces and human rights experts.”

Kemp says, “The group unanimously concluded that ‘the IDF not only met its obligations under the Law of Armed Conflict, but often exceeded these on the battlefield.'”

According to General Martin Dempsey, then Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff: “Israel went to extraordinary lengths to limit collateral damage and civilian casualties.”

Kemp concludes, “Bensouda’s accusations are demonstrably false” and her allegation that Israel committed war crimes “by transferring parts of its civilian population into occupied territory can only be described as outrageous.”

In addition to dismantling the meritless claims against the IDF in the ICC’s case, Kemp also destroys the false notion that the Court has jurisdiction over Israel.
