The Torah is clear – we are to destroy terrorists!

This week’s Torah portion is “Ki Teitzei” (Deuteronomy 21:10–25:19). Ki Teitzei is chock full of mitzvot, commandments and good deeds, many of which relate to interpersonal relationships.

The very last commandment in the reading is the commandment to wipe out the nation of Amalek. For those unfamiliar, Amalek was the nation who made their entire raison d’être to kill and harass the Jewish people wherever they could be found and to spew all forms of evil into the world. The Torah commands us to always remember how the Amalekites would attack and kill Jews at every opportunity. The Torah tells us that not only were they pure evil, they “did not fear God”.

Amalek. Evil. People determined to kill Jews. Spewing evil into the world. Sound familiar? Although the actual Amalekites might be gone, unfortunately we have not been successful in fully eradicating evil from the world. Although the Torah calls them the Amalekites, today we know them as The Al-Qaidaites, The Hamasites, The Hezbollaites along with the many other synonyms for evil and hatred in this world. Make no mistake, the Torah doesn’t tell us to negotiate with such evil, to compromise with such evil, or to waste our time at “peace summits” with such people.

The Torah is clear – we are to destroy terrorists. We must make them disappear one by one. Now that the blessed SEALS of the US Armed Forces successfully eradicated the Senior Amalekite Osama Bin Laden, they’ve now got more work to do. We have to wipe them all out. Sometimes you just can’t and shouldn’t make peace with certain types of people.

We are taught that God’s throne and kingdom will never be complete as long as there are Amalekites in the world. The Torah’s commandment of “Zachor” – Remember – is the secret to “Never again”. While we are honored to spread the truth about Israel and about our enemies, we’ll leave the true clean-up to the SEALS and the IDF. United with Israel will continue to spread the truth. And we will show the world who and where true evil comes from. “Am Yisrael Chai” – The Nation of Israel lives!
