The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet announced Friday that they eliminated Muhammad Na’im Jandiya, the head of military security for Hamas’ Shuja’iyya Battalion, in a strike in the Gaza Strip.
According to the military, Jandiya commanded a Hamas Nukhba terrorist cell that infiltrated Kibbutz Nahal Oz during the October 7 massacre and took part in the abduction of the late Capt. Daniel Perez.
The IDF said that throughout the war, Jandiya was also responsible for holding hostages Yotam Chaim, Samer Al-Talalka, and Alon Shamriz in an underground tunnel operated by Hamas’ Shuja’iyya Battalion.
Israeli officials said Jandiya continued to play an operational role throughout the war, recently working to advance terrorist attacks against IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip.
His elimination is the latest in a series of operations targeting terrorists directly involved in the October 7 massacre and the hostage-taking.
Earlier this week, the IDF and Shin Bet announced the elimination of Talal Jaber Mohammad Abd al-Aal, an Islamic Jihad commander who led a terrorist cell that infiltrated Israel during the October 7 attacks and later took part in holding Israeli hostages in southern Gaza.
The military also confirmed the elimination of Muhammad Fathi Abd al-Hai Abu Fakhr, commander of Hamas’ Yabna Battalion in Rafah. According to the IDF, Abu Fakhr had recently been recruiting new terrorists, rebuilding the battalion’s operational capabilities, and working to restore Hamas’ military infrastructure after months of fighting. He also played a key role for years in smuggling weapons into the Gaza Strip.
The IDF said it will continue operating throughout Gaza to eliminate terrorist threats, dismantle Hamas’ military infrastructure, and target those responsible for the October 7 massacre and the continued holding of Israeli hostages.
