The IDF eliminated two Hamas Nukhba terrorists in separate strikes in northern Gaza this week, including a terrorist who invaded Israel through the Erez Crossing during the Oct. 7 massacre, the military announced Thursday.

On Tuesday, the IDF struck and killed Sharif Shadi Ibrahim Labad, a member of Hamas’s elite Nukhba force who participated in the Oct. 7 invasion at the Erez Crossing.

According to the IDF, Labad had recently been advancing attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops while working to rebuild Hamas’s military capabilities in what the military described as systematic violations of the ceasefire.

“He was eliminated to remove the threat he posed,” the IDF said.

The military said it took measures to minimize civilian casualties before the strike, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.

The IDF acknowledged reports that an uninvolved person was harmed in the strike and said the circumstances were being investigated.

“The IDF regrets any harm to uninvolved individuals and makes every effort to minimize such harm,” the military said.

In a separate strike in northern Gaza earlier this week, the IDF eliminated Yusuf Saad al-Din Rashid Zaim, a Nukhba commander in Hamas’s military wing.

The IDF said Zaim had also recently been involved in advancing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians and attempting to restore Hamas’s capabilities in violation of the ceasefire.

Both terrorists were targeted because of the immediate threats they posed, according to the military.

The eliminations are the latest in a series of Israeli strikes against Hamas commanders and operatives involved in the Oct. 7 massacre or accused by the IDF of attempting to rebuild the terror group’s capabilities during the ceasefire.

The IDF said Southern Command forces remain deployed in Gaza in accordance with the existing agreement and will continue operating to eliminate immediate threats.
