“War does not determine who is right – only who is left,” said Bertrand Russel. Situated in the Middle East, the IDF has made this approach the credo it lives by, and diligently adheres to it.

The Global Firepower Index ranked the Israel Defense Force (IDF) as the most powerful military in the Middle East in its 2016 ranking.

The IDF was ranked more potent than the Iranian and Saudi forces and those of another 10 Middle Eastern countries.

On a global scale, the IDF ranked 11th of 126 armies, with the US Army ranked as the most powerful and the Russian army coming in second.

Drawing the Index information form various official and semi-official sources, the rating takes over 50 factors into account, including budgets, equipment, weapons arsenals, access to resources, personal and other relevant parameters. Nuclear arsenals were not taken into consideration, and Israel has one, according to foreign reports.

In 2014, Jane’s Information Group, a British publishing company specializing in military, aerospace and transportation topics, ranked the IDF as the mightiest military power in the region.

The people of Israel are thankful to the Almighty for making the IDF the powerful military force that it has become.
