Environmental entrepreneur Julian Melcer has been making a living by collecting cigarette butts from the Tel Aviv beaches and has even found a new use for them.

All over the world on Thursday, people were cleaning up and turning off the lights to conserve power in honour of Earth Day. This year’s theme is “#restore our planet.”

In Israel, ILTV highlighted one creative individual who has made it his mission to keep Israel’s beaches clean on a daily basis.

Not only is Julian Melcer, 26, concerned about the environment, but he has found a use for discarded cigarette butts!
