Palestinian terror attack

An Israeli man was stabbed and wounded Friday afternoon at the Jaffa Gate entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City. It was the second Palestinian terror incident of the day.

A 29-year-old Israeli man was stabbed in his upper back at Jerusalem’s Jaffa Gate shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday.

“Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics treated one Israeli male in his late 20s with stab wounds in his upper body. The victim is in a moderate state and is fully conscious, and was evacuated to the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem,” said MDA spokesperson Zachi Heler.

The terrorist, who attempted to flee the scene immediately after the stabbing, was caught within minutes by the Jerusalem Police.

According to a Police spokesperson, the terrorist is a 19-year-old Palestinian resident of Qabalan, a Palestinian village in Judea, north of Ramallah. He was arrested and taken for questioning.

Yechiel Stern, a volunteer paramedic with United Hatzalah, described the scene. “When I arrived, I saw a fellow married student who learns with us in the Torah academy of Shuvu Banim, who was stabbed in his upper body,” he said. “Another volunteer and a doctor provided first aid treatment together with other volunteers who live nearby, following which the injured person was transferred in an ambulance to hospital.”

On Friday morning a Palestinian terrorist threw a pipe bomb at a car traveling near Otniel in southern Judea. The driver, a Jewish Israeli woman, managed to escape uninjured. The car was lightly damaged.
