Three members of the Israeli group, all former IDF combat soldiers, fought back, enabling the six tourists to flee the scene.

Six Israeli tourists were attacked overnight on July 13 at a campsite in a remote area of northern Mongolia after assailants allegedly targeted the group upon hearing them speak Hebrew, leaving one person with a fractured jaw before the travelers escaped and were later evacuated.
The group, consisting of three men and three women, had been traveling by campervan and was preparing to stay overnight at a campsite when the attack began, KAN reported.
According to the report, an apparently intoxicated local man approached the Israelis after hearing them speaking Hebrew.
The attacker allegedly shouted antisemitic slurs, including “Heil Hitler,” before other assailants joined the confrontation.
KAN reported that the attackers were local Kazakh Muslims and shouted “Heil Hitler” and “get out of here” during the assault.
The attackers reportedly approached the campsite carrying weapons, including an ax.

One of the Israeli travelers suffered a fractured jaw after being struck forcefully in the face during the attack.
Following the incident, the injured tourist was flown back to Israel for medical treatment. The remaining members of the group were safely evacuated from Mongolia.
KAN reported that the tourists contacted the Israeli Embassy in China after the attack and remained in regular communication with the Israeli ambassador and embassy staff throughout the aftermath of the incident.
Local Mongolian authorities condemned the attack and offered to file a police complaint on behalf of the victims. The Israeli tourists ultimately chose not to pursue a complaint, according to the report.
No additional details about the attackers or any subsequent law enforcement action were released.
