In a previous incident, 20 people chased Israelis on a beach in Montenegro.

Two Israeli teenagers were attacked in Montenegro after identifying themselves as Israelis to a man they met at a casino, Mako reported, with one beaten by a group of locals while the other hid for more than two hours.

Yoav and Dor, both about 18 and from Hod Hasharon, were visiting Montenegro before their military service when they went to a local casino Wednesday.

Yoav said a man initially approached them in a friendly manner before asking where they were from.

After learning they were Israeli, his behavior changed, and he began following and bothering them.

“We sensed danger and decided to get up and go,” Yoav told Mako. The teenagers waited until the man looked away before running from the casino.

Outside, they encountered about 15 people who began pursuing them through nearby streets and alleys. The teenagers separated as they fled.

Yoav jumped a fence and took refuge in a private yard while Dor continued along a main road.

“I could hear them right above me, searching house by house and shouting. They shouted: ‘Jews, Jews!’” Yoav said.

The group eventually found Dor and attacked him with kicks, but he escaped and reached the hotel. Yoav remained hidden for two and a half hours before police arrived.

His parents contacted Israel’s Foreign Ministry while remaining on the phone with him. The ministry’s Department for Israelis Abroad and Israel’s consul in Serbia, who is responsible for Montenegro, contacted local police and assisted the teenagers and their families.

Montenegrin authorities are investigating the attack.

The incident followed another assault on Israelis in Montenegro last month, when about 20 locals attacked a group from communities near the Gaza border on a beach after learning they were Israeli.

The assailants shouted “Free Palestine,” punched and kicked the group and extinguished a cigarette on one victim. One Israeli suffered a fractured jaw and was flown to Israel for surgery.
