Israel has cancelled a meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening with Palestinian negotiators following the latest terror attack in which Police Chief Superintendent Baruch Mizrahi, a father of five, was fatally shot. The meeting was aimed at salvaging the failed peace talks.

On Monday evening – Passover eve – Mizrahi was traveling with his family towards the Hebron region when a terrorist shot him and injured his wife and son.

It is not clear whether the talks were cancelled permanently or merely postponed until a later time.

The following video, released by Hatzalah of Judea and Samaria, shows Israeli medics responding to the latest terror attack.

According to a report on the Israel National News website, another Israeli family that was driving behind the Mizrahi vehicle narrowly avoided the shooting.

The driver of the second vehicle blamed the tragedy on the “deal with the devil,” alluding to the release of violent terrorists from Israeli prisons in order to continue negotiating a peace deal with the Palestinian Authority, INN reported.

Prime Minister Netanyahu blasted Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas for remaining silent following Mizrahi’s murder rather than condemning the latest terror attack.

Abbas, according to substantiated reports, receives released terrorists as heroes, and the PA continues a policy of incitement to violence against Jews and the State of Israel.

Also according to INN, an Israeli official, on condition of anonymity, told news agency AFP that the latest terror attack “was the direct result of ongoing incitement and glorification of terrorism that we see in the official Palestinian media and education system.”

The murder was “the result of the incitement to hatred by Palestinian Authority leaders who continue to peddle hate-filled material against Israel,” Netanyahu stated.
