Missing Lone Soldier Found Dead

A lone soldier from the United States who has been missing since Sunday was found dead with his weapon by his side. Police have opened an investigation.

On Tuesday afternoon police appealed to the public for assistance in the search for David Menachem Gordon, 21, a lone IDF soldier missing since Sunday. He was found dead later that day with his weapon by his side. Police have opened an investigation.

Gordon, who hails from Ohio, was last seen at the Tzrifin military base in central Israel mid-day Sunday, dressed in his IDF uniform, including the purple beret of the elite Givati Brigade.

The family has been informed.
