Palestinian ‘Aid’ Groups Reject EU’s Millions Rather Than Stopping to Fund Terror

Palestinian organizations refused to sign a statement renouncing support for terrorist groups, which they falsely portray as “political parties.”

Over 130 Palestinian organizations have refused to sign a grant request from the European Union (EU) which stipulates that beneficiaries must refrain from transferring any aid from the EU to terrorist groups, claiming the terrorist groups are “political parties.”

The organizations have sent a letter of protest to EU representatives, demanding that they change the criteria.

Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, which released a report on the phenomenon on Tuesday, noted its campaign in recent years to expose ties between supposed human rights organizations and terrorist groups.

In its report released in March titled “The Money Trail”, along with additional findings from organizations such as NGO Monitor, the ministry wrote how EU institutions have awarded millions of euros in financial aid to Palestinian civil society organizations that have ties to terrorist entities and promote boycotts against Israel.

The ministry’s June report on “Terrorists in Suits” exposed over 100 ties shared between BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) organizations and internationally designated terrorist groups, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and Hamas.

According to the report, Palestinian civil society organizations act as a conduit for funds for terrorist entities, enabling them to raise money for their activities from legitimate bodies, including the EU.

“The opposition of these organizations to criteria preventing the transfer of funds to terror-related activities proves the report’s claim,” the Ministry stated.

The ties between human rights organizations and terrorist groups were clearly demonstrated in recent months after Israel’s combined security forces exposed and took down an extensive PFLP terror infrastructure that had planned a long line of attacks and carried out the bombing at Ein Danny in August that murdered Rina Shnerb and wounded her father and brother.

Terror Boss Masquerades as Politician

Some 50 activists and senior PFLP members were arrested as part of the extensive investigation, including PFLP leader Khaleda Jarrar, 56, a resident of Ramallah who was formerly imprisoned a number of times in the past for involvement in PFLP activities. Jarrar has emerged as the head of the PFLP in Judea and Samaria, and in this context was responsible for all the organization’s activities.

As a purported politician, she is a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC). She is also the PA representative on the Council of Europe and played a major role in the PA’s application to join the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The IDF’s military court had already ruled that she is dangerous, and yet for years she has been active in supposedly civilian organizations such as the A-Dameer (conscience in Arabic) human rights organization, which is active within the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Jarrar was deputy chairman of the A-Dameer executive committee until 2017, while she served as a senior member of the PFLP.

Similarly, Sammer Arabid, 44, from the Ramallah area, headed the terror cell, prepared the explosive charge and set it off when he noticed the Shnerb family approaching the Danny Spring in Benyamin.

Arabid served as a clerk for the A-Dameer.

Younis Aljaro, Chairman of the Board of Directors for A-Dameer, was a leader in the PFLP, a designated terrorist organization in several countries.

Sumud Sa’adat, the daughter of PFLP Secretary-General Ahmed Sa’adat, is currently serving in A-Dameer.

Ayman Nasser, a senior A-Dameer activist, was a member of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades and was arrested by Israeli forces several times.

Annas Barghouti, a lawyer working for A-Dameer in the defense of incarcerated terrorists, is a PFLP member who was previously arrested by Israel.

The A-Dameer organization mainly provides legal services to Arab detainees in Israeli jails, and “works on raising the societal awareness in the field of democracy and human rights through working with different sectors of the local society,” according to its website.

According to NGO Monitor, A-Dameer engages in anti-Israel demonization, refers to terrorists as “martyrs” and promotes the idea of “a Palestinian right to resist.”
