Adding to their ongoing incitement against Israel, Palestinian officials now claim that the Mossad is planning a terror attack in Iran in order to create civil unrest.

A “senior Palestinian security source” said that Mossad, Israel’s intelligence and counterterrorism agency, is planning to carry out a terrorist attack in one of Iran’s Sunni mosques in order to create a rift between the Shiite majority and the Sunnis with the objective of stirring unrest in the Islamic Republic.

According to a report by the Iranian Fars News Agency, “The Mossad seeks to incite the Sunni Muslims against the Shiite population and the government in Iran.”

The unnamed source called for “the Islamic Ummah’s [nation] vigilance” against the “Israeli divisive plots,” adding that “Tel Aviv is well experienced in sowing discord and creating sedition and ethnic wars.”

The Palestinian source told al-Wae’y News that the bombing plot allegedly due to be implemented is similar to the suicide attack on Shiite worshipers in a mosque in Saudi Arabia carried out by an Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist last Friday.

An ISIS bomber blew himself up in the mosque as more than 150 people had gathered for Friday prayers, killing 21 and wounding 97. Afterwards, many people took to the streets to denounce the attack. The protesters also chanted slogans expressing anger at the Saudi officials.

Ongoing Allegations Against Israel

Israel has been repeatedly blamed for violence throughout the Middle East over recent decades. Arab officials habitually point a finger at Jerusalem rather than contending with the real threats.

It has also become fashionable to equate Israel with ISIS. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah used his address on Sunday, marking the 15th anniversary of Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon, to compare ISIS to Israel, claiming that Hezbollah was defending Lebanon from an existential threat, namely Israel and ISIS.

The campaign head of the Arab Joint List in the Knesset alleged during the March elections that ISIS learned to commit its heinous crimes from Israel. “Where did ISIS learn these crimes? Look at what the Zionist movement did in 1948. The rape, the looting, the murder, the massacre, that were carried out in these areas,” he claimed.

Saeb Erekat, chief Palestinian Authority (PA) peace negotiator, said in September that the reason behind the extremism in the region is the continuation of the “Israeli occupation,” the suffering of the Palestinian people and the “terror” carried out by Israel and the “settlers.” He made these statements while expressing concern that the international coalition against ISIS would divert attention from the Palestinian issue.

Petition to the United States and European Union

We demand that all funding of the PA be stopped immediately. The brutal murder of Israelis committed by Palestinian terrorists throughout Israel is the latest result of ongoing PA incitement against Israeli citizens. Funding the PA means funding terror.
