Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro on Wednesday accused Tucker Carlson of falsely claiming that he wants Christians killed under the Noahide laws, calling the allegation “psychotic” and attacking the former Fox News host over his political alliances.

“Tucker Carlson is apparently out there saying I want to kill Christians because of the Noahide laws or something. This is psychotic. But I’d expect nothing less from an addled nicotine salesman who spends all of his time rallying for Islamists like Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani while making excuses for Hitler. Tucker wants conservatives to lose. It’s that simple,” Shapiro wrote on X.

The dispute followed remarks Shapiro made Oct. 7 during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Iowa, where a student wearing a “Jesus is King” shirt questioned him about faith.

Shapiro responded by explaining the traditional Jewish position that non-Jews do not have to convert to Judaism to receive a share in the world to come.

Instead, he said, Judaism expects non-Jews to follow seven fundamental moral principles known as the Noahide laws.

Those principles prohibit idolatry, blasphemy, murder, sexual immorality, theft and eating flesh from a living animal, and require the establishment of courts of justice.

Shapiro has said the complete exchange also included praise for the student’s Christian faith.

Referenced in the Talmud, the Noahide laws are traditionally understood in Judaism as basic ethical obligations for all humanity rather than a system for imposing Jewish religious observance on non-Jews today.

The laws have also appeared for years in antisemitic literature alleging that Jews secretly intend to subjugate non-Jews and subject them to severe punishments.

Shapiro’s Wednesday response directly rejected the claim that his discussion of the laws amounted to advocating the killing of Christians. He also accused Carlson of supporting Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani and “making excuses for Hitler,” before asserting that Carlson wants conservatives to lose.
