Investigations exposed Hamas operatives in Turkey who recruited terrorists, moved funds, smuggled weapons, and directed attacks in Judea and Samaria.

The Shin Bet and IDF revealed Sunday that dozens of terror attacks were foiled over the past year after being directed by Hamas operatives based in Turkey through the organization’s command network in Judea and Samaria.
According to Israeli security officials, the network is headed by Zaher Jabarin, who oversees Hamas’ activities in Judea and Samaria, while Ayman Abu Khalil serves as the military commander responsible for directing terrorist operations in the area.
The announcement follows a series of investigations that exposed Hamas operatives living in Turkey who allegedly recruited terrorists, transferred funds, smuggled weapons, and coordinated attacks targeting Israelis in Judea and Samaria.
Among those identified was Ayman Sharawna, who allegedly recruited operatives and advanced terror activity from Turkish territory. Another operative, Mohammed Mallah, originally from the Tulkarm area, was said to divide his time between Turkey and Qatar while assisting in the transfer of funds for terrorist operations.
Israeli authorities also identified Majed Jaaba, who allegedly helped smuggle the weapon used in the November 2023 shooting attack at the Tunnels Checkpoint. Additional operatives named by the Shin Bet included Walid Abu Nassar, who allegedly financed a terrorist infrastructure in Bethlehem, and Salam Yaish, who was accused of recruiting terrorists for future attacks.
According to the Shin Bet, the investigations highlight Hamas’ continued efforts to direct and finance terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria from abroad, with Turkey serving as a key operational base for several senior operatives.
Israeli security officials said the exposure of the network contributed to the disruption of dozens of planned attacks and provided further evidence of Hamas’ efforts to expand its operational capabilities in the West Bank while relying on operatives located outside the region.
